This has been a banner season for traveling bards of baseball. We’ve been enjoying reports from Tug Haines and anthem singer Joe Price, both of whom are touring vast swaths of the country in their summer travels. Craig Wieczorkiewicz is also putting some miles on his car this season, but he’s focusing exclusively on the Midwest League, the Class A home of various Snappers, Hot Rods, Kernels, Lug Nuts and Loons. He’s chronicling his journey...

LOONS

Usually, I find some wacky or mad-impressive stat to focus on in this space. Today, however, we’re celebrating a truly impressive achievement. PCLLogo.ai

While we’re sure you’ve grown to love and cherish our higgledy-piggledy random posting style, this year we got together and decided to present minor-league baseball with a certain regard for structure. That means each guy got a classification or two to focus on throughout the season. That’s in addition to whatever higgledy-piggledy stuff each of us does, because we value our freedom. Video: Dayton Dragons Brawl With Peoria Chiefs

July 31, 2008

It’s the winging of the baseball into the opposing team’s dugout that really makes this clip. Not that I condone such behavior. It just makes it stand out from your average baseball fight. Hat Tip to Gheorghe: The Blog for being generally awesome, and for airing this video first.

Jay Bruce on Video

October 8, 2007

OMDQ and I have been talking a lot about Jay Bruce recently, because he has been anointed as the best Bus Leaguer around by a couple of influential publications. I thought I’d hit YouTube and find the Zapruder film on the guy before he blows up in Cincy next year. First, here he is a couple of years ago in Dayton A ball. I admit I used this video just so you could get...
