Monday the 12th found me visiting my second consecutive Bus Leagues park with a good Babe Ruth story: It was in Asheville that the Swat Sultan finally succumbed to the “belly-ache heard round the world,” which limited him to just 98 games and a measly .936 OPS for the 1925 season—too many hot dogs slathered with that super-tangy VD brand mustard, apparently. A summit of sorts occurred last week at…wait, what’s the beautiful riverfront park in Manchester, NH, called? When it was built in 1998, it was Singer Family Park, but recently they changed it.
