I’m in Lowell, MA, tonight, taking care of the necessary interview for this week’s New York-Penn League Notebook at MiLB.com. I knew before the game that 17-year-old Luis Heredia would be on the hill for the State College Spikes (he was my first choice for the Notebook; unfortunately, I have developed a knack this season for showing an interest in interviewing that day’s starting pitcher; it’s a gift), but didn’t realize until Joshua Kummins clued me in that he would be opposed by Lowell’s Pat Light, the 37th overall pick by the Red Sox in this year’s draft.
With Light and Heredia squaring off, I figured I’d get my work done, then take some video and pictures…and amazingly, that’s just how it happened. (And look – I’m also writing WORDS!)
Most of my previous trips to Lowell have been spent in the press box, working, so it wasn’t until today that I realized there is a walkway at the top of the seats behind home plate, directly beneath the press box. This gave me a little room to work while I took several videos. Sadly, I’ve only uploaded two so far, but they’re good ones: Luis Heredia vs. Deven Marrero and Pat Light vs. Barrett Barnes.
